The reason I know exactly what eau perfume she is wearing is because there have been a few Christmases and birthdays over the years I have helped her swap out a near empty Vera Wang perfume bottle for a new one. I wouldn’t recognize my mom without this familiar scent. She wore it through my childhood and now whenever the flowery scent hits my nostrils mom is the first thing that pops into my mind.

I don’t know if she is in need of a new Vera Wang perfume bottle this Christmas but I may get her one anyway. A person can never have enough perfume and cologne. It doesn’t have an expiration date, helps put the best foot forward and for some people a specific scent is an identity marker. If I ever went blind, I would be able to tell when my mom walked into the room because of her perfume. I bet blind people are the ultimate scent hounds when it comes to perfume and cologne. They probably can spot familiar scents from a room away. Getting mom a new bottle of perfume is a safe gift I know she will enjoy.
